Blog Tour – ‘The Plumberry School of Comfort Food’ by Cathy Bramley

Blog Tour Poster

‘The Plumberry School of Comfort Food’ was published as a paperback original by Corgi on the 30th June 2016.  I absolutely love Cathy’s books and was delighted to be asked if I wanted to take part in this blog tour.   For each day of the tour a question taken from an interview by Zarina (@zarinatweets) is being asked.

Here is today’s question…..

What advice can you give to our readers who want to write a novel of their own?

I have a lot of author friends and we all have periods of doubts about our ability to write, so don’t worry about failure, just go for it and do the best you can.

Blog Tour – ‘Appleby Farm’ by Cathy Bramley

Blog Tour Poster

‘Appleby Farm’ was first released as a digital serial. It was published in paperback by Corgi on the 13th August 2015. Having truly enjoyed ‘Ivy Lane’, I was really looking forward to reading this book. So imagine my delight when I was not only sent a copy to review but also asked if I wanted to take part in this blog tour.

Freya Moorcroft is happy working at the café round the corner from the Ivy Lane allotments, though a part of her misses the beautiful rolling hills of her old Cumbrian childhood home, Appleby Farm. An unexpected phone call from her aunt and a desperate plea for help changes everything for Freya who finds herself going back home to the farm to lend a hand. Appleby Farm is in financial trouble and the stress is taking its toll on her aunt and uncle.

Freya has always believed that it is love that makes the world go round, not money. So will saving Appleby Farm and following her heart come at a price? You’ll have to read the book for yourself to find out.

This was an absolutely delightful read, a real page-turner; simply magical. Once again Cathy Bramley didn’t fail to disappoint me. I think her writing style is wonderful and that her stories are great.

A number of the characters in this book were from ‘Ivy Lane’ and it really felt as if I was meeting up with old friends who I hadn’t seen for ages. I totally loved the storyline. Freya had a heart of gold and did so much for her family. I think the challenge she was presented with was what she really needed. I would love to know what happens next in Freya’s life.

I would recommend reading ‘Ivy Lane’ first in order to get to know the characters who appear in ‘Appleby Farm’.

I give this book 5 out of 5.

Cover Reveal – ‘Wickham Hall: Part 1’ by Cathy Bramley

Wickham Hall Part 1 Hidden Treasures

This is the gorgeous cover of the first part of ‘Wickham Hall – Hidden Treasures’ by Cathy Bramley.  Read on to find out more.

 ~~~~~
I’m so excited about the launch of my new series Wickham Hall this month; it introduces a brand new set of characters and a beautiful new setting in a stately home just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. It’s a story of love and friendship, family secrets and heartache and ultimately learning to love life and live for the moment! I’ve packed the story full of my favourite things such as the English countryside, exquisite gardens (including topiary – I adore topiary!), weddings, summer festivals, lots of tea and cake, bonfires and Christmas parties!
The series will be published digitally in four parts this year and then in a complete novel both digitally and in paperback in 2016:
Wickham Hall Part One – Hidden Treasures 25 June
Wickham Hall Part Two – Summer Secrets 23 July
Wickham Hall Part Three – Sparks Fly 24 September
Wickham Hall Part Four – White Christmas 26 November
Here’s the blurb!
Holly Swift has just landed the job of her dreams: events co-ordinator at Wickham Hall, the beautiful manor home that sits proudly at the heart of the village where she grew up. Not only does she get to organise for a living and work in stunning surroundings, but it will also put a bit of distance between Holly and her problems at home.
Holly loves the busy world of Wickham Hall – from family weddings to summer festivals, firework displays and Christmas grottos. But life isn’t as easily organised as an event at Wickham Hall (and even those have their complications…). Can Holly learn to let go and live in the moment?
After all, that’s when the magic happens…
Cathy Bramley Bio
Cathy Bramley Marsh Agency
Cathy is the author of the best-selling romantic comedies Ivy Lane, Appleby farm and Conditional Love. She lives in a small Nottinghamshire village with her husband, two teenage daughters and Pearl, the Cockerpoo.
Her recent career as a full-time writer of light-hearted romantic fiction has come as somewhat of a lovely surprise after spending eighteen years running her own marketing agency. However, she has always been an avid reader, hiding her book under the duvet and reading by torchlight. Luckily her husband has now bought her a Kindle with a light, so that’s the end of all that palaver.
Cathy loves to hear from her readers. You can get in touch via her Facebook page or on Twitter.
Cover Reveal – ‘Appleby Farm’ by Cathy Bramley
Appleby Farm PB
Today I am very excited to be revealing the absolutely gorgeous cover for ‘Appleby Farm’, which is being published in paperback and kindle as a full novel on the 13th August 2015.
Book Blurb
Appleby Farm is a charming, funny and romantic story for anyone looking for a feel-good, light-hearted read, from the author of bestselling Ivy Lane.
Freya Moorcroft has wild red hair, mischievous green eyes, a warm smile and a heart of gold. She’s been happy working at the café round the corner from Ivy Lane allotments and her romance with her new boyfriend is going well, she thinks, but a part of her still misses the beautiful rolling hills of her Cumbrian childhood home: Appleby Farm.
Then a phone call out of the blue and a desperate plea for help change everything…
The farm is in financial trouble, and it’s taking its toll on the aunt and uncle who raised Freya. Heading home to lend a hand, Freya quickly learns that things are worse than she first thought. As she summons up all her creativity and determination to turn things around, Freya is surprised as her own dreams for the future begin to take shape.
Love makes the world go round, according to Freya. Not money. But will saving Appleby Farm and following her heart come at a price?
Blog Tour – ‘Ivy Lane’ by Cathy Bramley
Cathy Bramley - Blog Tour Poster
Last year saw ‘Ivy Lane’ first published in four parts as a digital series which proved to be very successful.  It is now out in paperback, released by Corgi on the 12th February 2015.  I was very lucky to be sent a proof copy and having now read it, I feel very privileged indeed to be part of this blog tour.
Tilly Parker has been through a terrible time but knows that she has to do something about her situation.  She needs a fresh start and some peace and quiet while she mends her broken heart.  So she decides to take on an allotment at Ivy Lane.  Tilly soon finds herself amongst a very friendly community who bring her out of her shell.  Can she start letting people back into her life and her heart?
I loved everything about ‘Ivy Lane’ including the cover which is just so pretty.  From the very first page I knew I would find it hard to put down this book.  I found it to be a very addictive read and it made me feel all lovely and warm inside.  Cathy Bramley has a wonderful way of writing.
There was a really good mixture of characters throughout this story, all of which were likeable.  Some of them had great personalities.  I like the way they all pulled together as a community.  Tilly was just so lovely and did so much for people.
At the back of the book is a collection of Cathy’s recipes some of which were mentioned throughout the story, so for those of you who like to cook and/or bake you will be in for an extra treat.  Some of the cakes made in the story certainly made my mouth water.
I can see why ‘Ivy Lane’ did so well last year.  I don’t somehow think that I would have been patient enough to read it in parts though.  I now have another favourite author to add to my list and I hope to read everything that Cathy Bramley writes.
‘Ivy Lane’ is a story about community spirit, friendship, love and new beginnings.
Thank you for an absolutely amazing read, Cathy.
I give this book 5 out of 5.
‘Conditional Love’ by Cathy Bramley
Cathy Bramley is thrilled to announce that a new ebook edition of CONDITIONAL LOVE is being published by Transworld on Friday 5th December.  A paperback version is to follow in 2015.
Cathy first published CONDITIONAL LOVE herself on Amazon in October 2013 but now it has had the full Transworld treatment.
Book Blurb
A takeaway, TV and tea with two sugars is about as exciting as it gets for thirty-something Sophie Stone. Sophie’s life is safe and predictable, which is just the way she likes it, thank you very much.
But when a mysterious benefactor leaves her an inheritance, Sophie has to accept that change is afoot. There is one big catch: in order to inherit, Sophie must agree to meet the father she has never seen.
Saying ‘yes’ means the chance to build her own dream home, but she’ll also have to face the past and hear some uncomfortable truths…
With interference from an evil boss, warring parents, an unreliable boyfriend and an architect who puts his foot in it every time he opens his mouth, will Sophie be able to build a future on her own terms – and maybe even find love along the way?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cathy Bramley asked her editor, Harriet Bourton to share her thoughts about this new edition of the book in her own words:

I first read CONDITIONAL LOVE before I’d met Cathy. I’d seen her on Twitter talking to bloggers I follow and I was impressed by her cover for the book and the reviews she had, so I bought it and started reading. That one casual purchase led to Cathy’s deal with Transworld and a creative, fun and rewarding new author relationship. Some happy months later, Cathy and I set about looking at CONDITIONAL LOVE with a fresh eye. I thought the novel was wonderful, full of Cathy’s trademark warmth, comfort and good humour, but being an editor we can never leave well enough alone, and I had some ideas for how Cathy could squeeze even more out of the story. The heart of the novel is still the same, and the over-arching plot and characters too, but I think of this new refreshed edition of CONDITIONAL LOVE as being the high-definition version: brimming with colour and romance, sharp witted and lively from beginning to end, and impossible to resist once you’ve taken a glance!

‘Appleby Farm’ Series by Cathy Bramley – Cover Reveal

Appleby FarmCathy Bramley has written another eBook series and today I am pleased to be taking part in the cover reveal.  Read more about ‘Appleby Farm’ below.

After I finished writing Ivy Lane earlier this year, my editor asked me if I’d consider a spin-off series, taking one character from Ivy Lane and plunging them into a new setting and a new story with perhaps a few surprise visits from some old friends from Ivy Lane. I thought this was a great idea and immediately set to work creating Appleby Farm, which I’m hoping readers of Ivy Lane will fall in love with.

It’s set in the glorious Lake District, an area I adore, and follows the story of a young woman and her fight to save the farm which has been in her family for generations. It features lots of wonderful people including a very attractive farmer on neighbouring Willow Farm, Vintage tearooms, a trip to Paris and a wedding. Appleby Farm will be published by Transworld in four monthly parts between February and May 2015 and they are all available to pre-order now!

The covers themselves have been designed by Kate Forrester, the same illustrator who drew my Ivy Lane covers and I think she has conjured up the warm and friendly farm set in the beautiful Lake District perfectly.
