A Lover of Books

The Liebster Award

A few days ago I was very kindly nominated for the Liebster Award by Susan Buchanan, author of ‘Sign of the Times’ and ‘The Dating Game’.  For this I would like to say thank you.  I’ve never got involved in this sort of thing before, so thought I should.  This is a great way for blogs to be discovered.

These are the rules:-

  • If you are lucky enough to receive this award, add a picture of it onto your blog (see above).   You can find the image on search engines such as Google.
  • You then need to post 11 random facts about yourself  and answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Pass this award onto 11 other nominees who have blogs.  Please note:  You cannot choose the blogger who nominated you.
  • Ask your nominees 11 new questions.

11 Random Facts About Me

I like collecting pigs!  No, not real pigs but anything to do with them: small ornamental pigs, soft toys, coaster mats, bookmarks etc.

I am very interested in the paranormal and have met Derek Acorah, Tony Stockwell and Colin Fry.

I love 80s music and have several compilation albums.

I love the older comedies such as ‘Steptoe and Son’ and ‘Porridge’.

I don’t have any brothers or sisters.

I would love to do something big for the homeless people.  In this day and age there shouldn’t be people sleeping on the streets.

I’ve always dreamt of having my own library.

I love stationery, particularly pens and notebooks.

I could never go out in the morning without putting lipstick on.  I would feel naked!

I like reading first thing in the morning before work, it sets me up for the day.

I love eating smooth peanut butter on its own!

Which sport do you wish (if any) that you were really good at (or are you already really good at?)

Sonya! Thanks so much for thinking of me. Your questions are really interesting and I want to answer them, but I just don’t have the time for these sort of things – like you, I don’t usually do them and have regretfully declined several similar offers. I’m in the middle of writing a novel I really want to get done, as well as my reading list, and all the tweeting, etc – oh, you know! This sort of thing should be fun, but right now it would just end up being something else on the endless ‘to do’ list.

I liked reading your answers & facts! I am the same as you re stationery, lipstick and a cottage in the country; I regret not making different career choices, too, and I did learn to drive but I was so crap at it that I’ve not driven since passing my test – I’d kill people! I love exploring the UK, too. In the late 70s I had a boyfriend who loved to do this, and every weekend, practically, we would drive somewhere different in the country. So many wonderful places – I’m still grateful to him for that!

This was really nice to read, anyway, and thanks again for thinking of me x
